Explore Hiroshima is a small personal blog. This page explains, in plain language, what data is collected when you visit and how it's used.
What we collect
The site is a static site hosted on Vercel. Vercel collects standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for the purpose of operating the service. These logs are retained according to Vercel's own retention policy and are not sold or shared.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers, fingerprinting scripts, or behavioural ad networks. We do not sell or share visitor data with third parties.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Vercel Web Analytics or Plausible) to count page views in aggregate. No analytics tool deployed here uses cookies or cross-site identifiers, and no individual visitor is tracked across sessions.
If you email us at hello@explorehiroshima.jp, your message and email address will be stored only to reply to you. We do not add emailers to a marketing list without explicit opt-in.
Cookies
The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Embedded content from third parties (for example, hotel booking links or YouTube videos) may set their own cookies — those are governed by the respective third party's privacy policy.
Outbound links
Many posts link to restaurants, hotels, and external resources. These are recommendations, not paid placements. A small number of links may go through general booking platforms (Booking.com, Agoda, Rakuten Travel) — if any such link ever earns a small commission, it will not affect the price you pay or the editorial content of the post. We disclose any such relationship in the relevant article when applicable.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes meaningfully, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will also be noted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
